O Paalan haare English Translation

Here is english translation for the song 'O Paalan haare' from movie 'Lagaan'

--FEMALE--
O paalanhaare, nirgun aur nyaare x 2
Oh nurturant Lord, beyond description and beyond all

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

Humri uljhan suljhaao bhagwan
Ease our difficulties, oh God

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

Tumhe humka ho sambhaale
You are our only supporter

Tumhe hamre rakhwaale
You are our only protector

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

--CHORUS--
Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

--FEMALE--
Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

Chanda mein tumhe to bhare ho chaandni
It is you who has filled the moon with moonlight

Sooraj mein ujaala tumhe se
The sun's brightness is from you

Yeh gagan hai magan, tumhe to diye ho isse taare
The sky is content, you have given stars to it

Bhagwan, yeh jeevan tumhe na sanwaaroge
God, if you don't adorn this life

To kya koi sanwaare
Then who will adorn it?

O paalanhaare, nirgun aur nyaare
Oh nurturant Lord, beyond description and beyond all

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin x 2
Without you, we have no one

--MALE--
Jo suno to kahe Prabhuji hamri hai binti
If you will listen, Lord, I will make a plea

Dukhi jan ko dheeraj do
Give patience to sorrowful people

Haare nahin voh kabhi dukh se
So that they will never give in to the sorrow

Tum nirbal ko raksha do
Provide the powerless with protection

Reh paaye nirbal sukh se
So that the powerless can remain happy

Bhakti ko shakti do
Provide your disciples with strength

--CHORUS--
Bhakti ko shakti do
Provide your disciples with strength

--MALE--
Jag ke jo swami ho, itni to araj suno
Since you are the world's master, please hear this plea

Hai path mein andhiyaare
There is darkness in our path

Dedo vardaan mein ujiyaare
Provide us with blessed light

--CHORUS--
O paalanhaare, nirgun aur nyaare
Oh nurturant Lord, beyond description and beyond all

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin
Without you, we have no one

Humri uljhan suljhaao bhagwan
Ease our difficulties, oh God

Tumre bin hamra kaunon naahin x 3
Without you, we have no one

In this material world we are looking for that perfect love relationship. We are looking for that person that we can fully give ourselves to, who will be able to perfectly and fully reciprocate our love. So many times we try to totally give ourselves to someone that we feel is such a person. But then we end up feeling disappointed and frustrated after we realize that they are not what really what we thought them to be. And then we go off again searching for the perfect person with whom we can perfectly reciprocate our love.

But alas because is the world of imperfection, we will never find such a person in this world. If we want to find to such a person we must look to the world of perfection, the transcendental kingdom of God. Indeed we must establish a pure loving relationship with God Himself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

That Supreme Lord is unlimited and therefore has hundreds and millions of names. We can approach Him with sincere love and through any one of His unlimited names. Which name we choose is not so important. What is important is that we humbly approach Him and fully surrender ourselves unto Him.

In the Vedas thousands of names are given for the Supreme Person. Out of these many names the name Krishna is especially recommended because it is the all-inclusive name that includes all of the other names of God within it. You can find no other nomenclature for the Supreme Absolute Truth that is as perfect and complete as the name Krishna. By chanting Hare Krishna with love and devotion one can easily experience tangible spiritual bliss. The heart becomes soft and one easily becomes free from the contaminating qualities of lust, anger, and greed. One gradually revives one's original spiritual identity in the eternal kingdom of God. You will regain your original perfect relationship with Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

If you have not already started, why not start today to perfect your consciousness through the daily chanting of the Holy Names of God? This is our humble request to you, our beloved reader. We cannot tolerate seeing you continuing to suffer in this material existence. Kindly adopt the path of pure devotion today and relish the sweet taste of pure loving reciprocation with the Supreme Being.

Sri Damodarastaka

This song is sung during the Month of Kartik [3rd October until 3rd November] , also known as the month of Damodara. As quoted in the Sri Hari-Bhakti-Vilasa, "In the month of Kartika one should worship Lord Damodara and daily recite the prayer known as Damodarastaka, which has been spoken by the sage Satyavrata and which attracts Lord Damodara.

1) To the Supreme Lord, whose form is the embodiment of eternal existence, knowledge, and bliss, whose shark-shaped earrings are swinging to and fro, who is beautifully shining in the divine realm of Gokula, who (due to the offense of breaking the pot of yogurt that His mother was churning into butter and then stealing the butter that was kept hanging from a swing) is quickly running from the wooden grinding mortar in fear of mother Yasoda, but who has been caught from behind by her who ran after Him with greater speed--to that Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, I offer my humble obeisances.

2) (Seeing the whipping stick in His mother's hand) He is crying and rubbing His eyes again and again with His two lotus hands. His eyes are filled with fear, and the necklace of pearls around His neck, which is marked with three lines like a conch shell, is shaking because of His quick breathing due to crying. To this Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, whose belly is bound not with ropes but with His mother's pure love, I offer my humble obeisances.

3) By such childhood pastimes as this He is drowning the inhabitants of Gokula in pools of ecstasy, and is revealing to those devotees who are absorbed in knowledge of His supreme majesty and opulence that He is only conquered by devotees whose pure love is imbues with intimacy and is free from all conceptions of awe and reverence. With great love I again offer my obeisances to Lord Damodara hundreds and hundreds of times.

4) O Lord, although You are able to give all kinds of benedictions, I do not pray to You for the boon of impersonal liberation, nor the highest liberation of eternal life in Vaikuntha, nor any other boon (which may be obtained by executing the nine processes of bhakti). O Lord, I simply wish that this form of Yours as Bala Gopala in Vrndavana may ever be manifest in my heart, for what is the use to me of any other boon besides this?

5) O Lord, Your lotus face, which is encircled by locks of soft black hair tinged with red, is kissed again and again by mother Yasoda, and Your lips are reddish like the bimba fruit. May this beautiful vision of Your lotus face be ever manifest in my heart. Thousands and thousands of other benedictions are of no use to me.

6) O Supreme Godhead, I offer my obeisances unto You. O Damodara! O Ananta! O Vishnu! O master! O my Lord, be pleased upon me. By showering Your glance of mercy upon me, deliver this poor ignorant fool who is immersed in an ocean of worldly sorrows, and become visible to my eyes.

7) O Lord Damodara, just as the two sons of Kuvera--Manigriva and Nalakuvara--were delivered from the curse of Narada and made into great devotees by You in Your form as a baby tied with rope to a wooden grinding mortar, in the same way, please give to me Your own prema-bhakti. I only long for this and have no desire for any kind of liberation.

8) O Lord Damodara, I first of all offer my obeisances to the brilliantly effulgent rope which binds Your belly. I then offer my obeisances to Your belly, which is the abode of the entire universe. I humbly bow down to Your most beloved Srimati Radharani, and I offer all obeisances to You, the Supreme Lord, who displays unlimited pastimes.

An Unlived Life

I will not die an unlived life.

I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loose my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise.

I choose to risk my significance to live; so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit.

Living In You

Some things in life never change, Sometimes in life you don’t find reasons,

Some moments in life aren’t forgotten, Sometimes you loose hope… When time rolls by you to forget What holds you on…

Some people in life are a part of you, And when you let them go, You never lose them. Because… you find them living in you.

Even though you are not here

Even though you are not here
I still say good night
I imagine you getting into bed next to me
Holding me from behind

Even though you are not here
I still feel your breath on my back
I feel your heart beat
As you fall asleep behind me

Even though you were never here
I still long for you
In the cold of the night
My body heat keeps you warm

Even though you were never here
I can feel your hands on my body
Holding me tight
Its going to be okay...

Even though you were never here

The Five Tibetan Rites: Exercises for Healing, Rejuvenation, and Longevity

In 1985 a book called The Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth written by Peter Kelder was published which for the first time fully described an exercise program for "youthing". This is an exercise program used by Tibetan monks to live long, vibrant and healthy lives. In fact, this book states that many have lived longer than most can imagine by following the program often called the "Five Tibetan Rites". The benefits are described in this book and a subsequent book 2 with an expanded description of the program by the publisher called the Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth - Book 2, a companion to the original book by Peter Kelder. Many thanks to the publisher Doubleday for such a special an expanded explanation of the Five Rites.

  • Potential Benefits of the Five Rites

The authors provide many examples of the benefits of the "Five Tibetan Rites" including the following: looking much younger; sleeping soundly; waking up feeling refreshed and energetic; release from serious medical problems including difficulties with spines; relief from problems with joints; release from pain; better memory; arthritis relief; weight loss; improved vision; youthing instead of aging; greatly improved physical strength, endurance and vigour; improved emotional and mental health; enhanced sense of well being and harmony; and very high overall energy.

  • How the Five Rites Work

Medical professions explain the benefits based on their personal perspective and I suggest you read the entire two books for a broad overview. However, the majority share the view that the rites represent a system of exercise that affects the body, emotions and mind. The Tibetans claim that these exercises activate and stimulate the seven key chakras that in turn stimulate all the glands of the endocrine system. The endocrine system is responsible for the body's overall functioning and aging process. This means that the Five Rites will affect the functioning of all your organs and systems, including the physical and energetic systems and that includes the aging process. The man who brought these Five Rights out of Tibet stated that "performing the Five Rites stimulates the circulation of essential life energy throughout the body".

How to elimate mental paralysis

I will eliminate my mental paralysis by adopting the following attitudes:

  • I will decide that all things are possible - then think creatively to find a way to achieve them.
  • I will substitute CAN for CAN'T in my daily life.
  • I will be decisive and avoid procrastination.
  • I will be resolute in my intentions and will not allow negative circumstances to undermine my determination.
  • I will put a "flea" in the ear of all those who wish to use mine as a garbage can.
  • I will set my GOALS and PLAN systematically to arrive at them.
  • Every day before my head hits the pillow, I will be just that little bit nearer to my GOAL than when I arose.
  • I will not accept that things must remain the way they are simply because that's the way they are.
  • I will not limit my vision to doing things in a certain manner just because it is traditional to do them in that manner.
  • I will keep going UNTIL!.

Today's Thought: Begging for Krishna's Mercy

My dearest Lord Krishna, by the mercy of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, my most beloved spiritual master, and his followers I have been engaged in Your service. It is not easy to engage oneself purely in devotional service while living in a world which is 100% dedicated to material sense gratification. Nor is it easy to spread a movement of pure bhakti in such a world. Therefore feeling myself powerless in such a situation all I can do is fall down at Your lotus feet and beg for Your mercy that I may always be engaged in pure devotional service in all times, places, and circumstances, and that I may be successful in spreading this Krishna consciousness movement all over the world. I know, my dear Lord, that without Your mercy these will be impossible to accomplish. Therefore, kindly do not deny me Your mercy. Please shower Your rain of mercy constantly upon me.

Gone to the Unseen - Poem by Rumi

At last you have departed and gone to the Unseen.
What marvelous route did you take from this world?

Beating your wings and feathers,
you broke free from this cage.
Rising up to the sky
you attained the world of the soul.
You were a prized falcon trapped by an Old Woman.
Then you heard the drummer's call
and flew beyond space and time.

As a lovesick nightingale, you flew among the owls.
Then came the scent of the rosegarden
and you flew off to meet the Rose.

The wine of this fleeting world
caused your head to ache.
Finally you joined the tavern of Eternity.
Like an arrow, you sped from the bow
and went straight for the bull's eye of bliss.

This phantom world gave you false signs
But you turned from the illusion
and journeyed to the land of truth.

You are now the Sun -
what need have you for a crown?
You have vanished from this world -
what need have you to tie your robe?

I've heard that you can barely see your soul.
But why look at all? -
yours is now the Soul of Souls!

O heart, what a wonderful bird you are.
Seeking divine heights,
Flapping your wings,
you smashed the pointed spears of your enemy.

The flowers flee from Autumn, but not you -
You are the fearless rose
that grows amidst the freezing wind.

Pouring down like the rain of heaven
you fell upon the rooftop of this world.
Then you ran in every direction
and escaped through the drain spout . . .

Now the words are over
and the pain they bring is gone.
Now you have gone to rest
in the arms of the Beloved.

What Will Matter

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won’t matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won’t matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched,
empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memories of those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

Possessing Love

The greatest mistake in Love is trying to possess it.
It will spill out of hand just like water.

Love will retrieve from you if you demand, if you expect.
Love is meant to be free; you cannot change its nature.

If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.
Give, but don’t expect. Advise, but don’t order.
Ask, but never demand.

Paulo Coelho - Love Cures

Famed author Paulo Coelho reminds us that we must remain open to love to truly feel it's healing power

There are times when we would long to be able to help someone whom we love very much, but we can do nothing. Circumstances will not allow us to approach them, or the person is closed off to any gesture of solidarity and support.

Then all we are left with is love. At such times, when we can do nothing else, we can still love – without expecting any reward or change or gratitude.

If we do this, the energy of love will begin to transform the universe about us. Wherever this energy appears, it always achieves its ends. 'Time does not transform man. Will power does not transform man. Love transforms,' says Henry Drummond.

I read in the newspaper about a little girl in Brasília who was brutally beaten by her parents. As a result, she lost all physical movement as well as the ability to speak. Once admitted to hospital, she was cared for by a nurse who said to her every day: 'I love you.' Although the doctors assured her that the child could not hear and that all her efforts were in vain, the nurse continued to say: 'Don't forget, I love you.'

Three weeks later, the child recovered the power of movement. Four weeks later, she could talk again and smile. The nurse never gave any interviews, and the newspaper did not publish her name, but let me set this down here, so that we never forget: love cures.

Love transforms and love cures, but, sometimes, love builds deadly traps and can end up destroying a person who had resolved to give him or herself completely. What is this complex feeling which, deep down, is the only reason we continue to live, struggle and improve?

It would be irresponsible of me to attempt to define it, because I, along with every other human being, can only feel it. Thousands of books have been written on the subject, plays have been put on, films produced, poems composed, sculptures carved out of wood or marble, and yet, all any artist can convey is the idea of a feeling, not the feeling itself. But, I have learned that this feeling is present in the small things, and manifests itself in the most insignificant of our actions; it is necessary, therefore, to keep love always in mind, regardless of whether or not we take action.

Picking up the phone and saying the affectionate words we have been postponing. Opening the door to someone who needs our help. Accepting a job. Leaving a job. Taking a decision that we were putting off for later. Asking forgiveness for a mistake we made and which keeps niggling at us. Demanding a right that is ours. Opening an account at the local florist's, which is a far more important shop than the jeweller's. Putting music on really loud when the person you love is far away, and turning the volume down when he or she is near. Knowing when to say 'yes' and 'no', because love works with all our energies. Discovering a sport that can be played by two. Not following any recipe, not even those contained in this paragraph – because love requires creativity.

And when none of this is possible, when all that remains is loneliness, then remember this story that a reader once sent to me:

A rose dreamed day and night about bees, but no bee ever landed on her petals.

The flower, however, continued to dream: during the long nights, she imagined a heaven full of bees who flew down to bestow fond kisses on her. By doing this, she was able to last until the next day, when she opened again to the light of the sun.

One night, the moon, who knew of the rose's loneliness, asked:

'Aren't you tired of waiting?'

'Possibly, but I have to keep trying.'

'Why?'

'Because if I don't remain open, I will simply fade away.'

At times, when loneliness seems to crush all beauty, the only way to resist is to remain open.

Do Less

Do Less Thinking, and pay more attention to your heart.

Do Less Acquiring, and pay more attention to what you already have.

Do Less Complaining, and pay more attention to giving.

Do Less Controlling, and pay more attention to letting go.

Do Less Criticizing, and pay more attention to complementing.

Do Less Arguing, and pay more attention to forgiveness.

Do Less Running Around, and pay more attention to stillness.

Do Less Talking, and pay more attention to silence.

The FINAL Analysis

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the FINAL analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

India's Independence Day

14th August is India's Independence Day, and seeing that I love the national anthem so much, here is a video of my favourite version, available for download on the link below.

Jana Gana Mana invokes the pride that the people of India feel in belonging to the country. The national anthem of India, it binds the otherwise multi-lingual nation into one whole. The words of Jana Gana Mana proudly describe this unity of being. The tribute that the song pays to its people is reflected in this powerful film representing the most refined voices of India. The biggest artists of Indian music come together to acknowledge their pride in the country.

The National Anthem:

Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka, jaya he

Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.

Punjab-Sindh-Gujarat-Maratha

Dravida-Utkala-Banga

Vindhya-Himachala-Yamuna-Ganga

Uchchala-Jaladhi-taranga.

Tava shubha name jage,

Tava shubha asisa mange,

Gahe tava jaya gatha,

Jana-gana-mangala-dayaka jaya he

Bharata-bhagya-vidhata.

Jaya he, jaya he, jaya he,

Jaya jaya jaya, jaya he!

Quote from Life in a Metro - For Haniksha

Shruti: So you found a girl on Shaadi.com?

Monty: No, my mother's been looking for a girl for me, 5 feet 4 inch, Fair, Four figure salary, convent educated, and she has a good figure. Mother says she looks like Bipasha, I haven't seen any of Bipasha's movies, so I'll watch some of her movies now.

Shruti: If you don't fall in love with her, how can you marry her?

Monty: Love will follow later.

Shruti: If it doesn't, then what?

Monty: Relationships don't come with any guarantees, you can't take them back if they don't work, you know? We might fall in love. I'll take a chance. If you try, anything is possible. Everything will be alright, don't worry.

The Guy on the Bicycle

On Monday afternoon, I met "The Guy on the Bicycle". I wondered who in their right mind would actually come to a Backpackers Lodge on a bicycle?!? Then I started speaking to him, and this is what he said:

  • He realised he needed to make a change when both his parents passed away from cancer without ever owning a passport
  • He needed to be happy, he told me that the world is too "wage" conscious, people are working so hard to get a better car, a better house, and all the latest gadgets, only to spend most of their lives working for these "toys", that they cannot enjoy it
  • He told me that we define our own happiness, only we can decide who and what makes us happy
  • He left his home in London and has been travelling for one and a half years and is now on his way to Cape Town

This is the lessons I learnt from him:

  • The simple things in life should make us happy
  • Decide on what makes you happy and just do it
  • Life is too short to waste time and be un-happy, start it now without any delays
  • Life is meant to be "lived" and not "worked"
  • Reduce the material possessions and live simply
  • No matter what material possession you have, it cannot go with you
  • Never under-estimate the lovely taste of a simple meal
  • Do not complicate your lives

Together

We are together once again, after so many lifetimes together,
We meet in this life, our paths were destined to cross,
We met at the crossroads of love, deciding to walk together
For a short while, our path destined to be together, but
The path for us is without each other, and we arrive at another
Crossroad of Love, It hurts to let you go on your own pathway, and
Me on my own pathway, but this is the crossroads of Love.

Crossroads meet and split, because thats how crossroads are,
They are just intersections of Life, and when I look back to
Our past crossroads, you were with me, but for this life,
We have chosen different pathways at this intersection, and
I know that our pathways will cross once again, not in this
Life, but in the next, who knows, we might meet again.

I remember in a past life, you were the little girl escaping
Together with me from the dark room they locked me in,
In another, You were my wife, being with me up till the very
Last moment I crossed over, we've been together many lifetimes,
And I will not stop you from your path in this lifetime.

We were once together and will be together once again...

Speak from the Heart

Do not be afraid of speaking from the heart, do not wait a second longer, if you wait, seconds become minutes, minutes become hours, hours become days, days become months and months become years!

Life is too short, do not wonder about "what ifs", live your life now and speak from the heart!

This Material World

This material world is not a fully blissful place because here we have to always alternate between suffering and happiness. We cannot just enjoy happiness. We must suffer misery also. And even the happiness we experience here is not pure happiness because it is always mixed consciously or unconsciously with the anxiety of knowing that it will end at any time, that it will not last.

So why should we endeavor so much to enjoy this world? This is not very sensible. It is better that we apply our energies for realizing and reviving our original all-blissful, all-knowing eternal natures. This will qualify us for eternal residence in the unlimitedly sublime anxiety-free spiritual sky.

I'd Like - Freshly Ground

What would you do if I kissed you?
What would you do if I held your hand and laid you down?
Would you find me overly familiar towards you?
Would you call me insensitive, and say that I deserve to die?
What do I do with all these feelings tearing me up inside?
What do I do with all these wasted hours dreaming of you at night?

I'd like to call you sometime…

What would you do if you knew the truth?
What would you do if I told you the story of my life?
Would you find me overly familiar towards you?
Would you call me crude, fling me aside to the birds?
What do I do with all these feelings holding me back inside?
What do I do with all these wasted hours dreaming of you at night?

I'd like to call you sometime
I'd like you to need me one time
I’d like to call you sometime

What would you do if I kissed you?
What would you do if I held your hand and laid you down?
Would you recognize it’s a need I've been fighting for so long?
Would you recognize it’s a hunger only you can fill?
What do I do with all these feelings warming me up inside?
What do I do with all these precious hours dreaming of you at night?

Coz I'd like to call you sometime
I'd like you to need me one time
I'd like to have you all the time
Oh I'd like to call you...

NOBODY KNOWS - The Tony Rich Project

I pretended I'm glad you went away
These four walls closin' more every day
And I'm dying inside
And nobody knows it but me
Like a clown I put on a show
The pain is real even if nobody knows
And I'm crying inside
And nobody knows it but me

Why didn't I say
The things I needed to say
How could I let my angel get away
Now my world is just a tumblin' down
I can say it so clearly
But you're nowhere around

The nights are lonely, the days are so sad
And I just keep thinkin' about
The love that we had
And I'm missin' you
And nobody knows it but me

I carry a smile when I'm broken in two
And I'm nobody without someone like you
I'm tremblin' inside and nobody knows it but me
I lie awake it's a quarter past three
I'm screamin' at night as if I thought
You'd hear me
Yeah my heart is callin' you
And nobody knows it but me

How blue can I get
You could ask my heart
But like a jigsaw puzzle it's been torn all apart
A million words couldn't say just how I feel
A million years from now you know
I'll be lovin' you still

The nights are lonely, the days are so sad
And I just keep thinkin' about
The love that we had
And I'm missin' you
And nobody knows it but me

Tomorrow mornin' I'm hitting the dusty road
Gonna find you wherever, ever you might go
I'm gonna unload my heart and hope you come back to me
Said when the nights are lonely...

The nights are lonely, the days are so sad
And I just keep thinkin' about
The love that we had
And I'm missin' you
And nobody knows it but me

My Wish For Today

My wish for today is that if you have someone special in your life and they are not with you when you go to sleep tonight, tell them "I wish you were here, just breathing beside me"

Do Not Shut Love

Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly.

Steve Harvey - Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man

I managed to get a copy of Steve Harvey's book "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man". This book is about 90% accurate, it will teach a lady how to set boundaries and rules for men in their relationships, its a great read for guys too, for those who are serious only!

Oh and here's the link to the book, download it, read it and let me know what you think...

http://rapidshare.com/files/242332635/Steve_Harvey_Act_like_a_lady.pdf

I personally think that this is a great read and remember its Steve's point of view in this book and at the end of the day remember its still a story.

Kuch Is Tarah - Atif Aslam

kuch is tarah teri palkain meri palkon se mila de
look into my eyes in such a way that

aansu tere saray meri palkon pe saja de
when you want to cry, the tears should come out of my eyes

tu har ghari har waqt mere sath raha ha
each and every moment I feel that spiritually I'm with you

han yeh jism kabhi dur kabhi paas raha ha
yeah its the truth that I physically may be away from you

jo bhi ghum hai yeh tere unhain tu mera pata de
whatever your troubles, your bad memories, heart-breakers, just give them all to me and take all my happiness

kuch is tarah teri palkain meri palkon se mila de
look into my eyes in such a way that

mujh ko to tere chehray par yeh gham nahi jachta
and o my beloved I cannot bear to see this sorrowful expression on your face because it really hurts me

jayez nahi lagta mujhey ghum se tera rishta
and this is totally unfair with that innocent face of yours

sun meri guzarish is chehray se hata de
I beg you to please remove it from your face and replace it with my happiness

kuch is tarah teri palkain meri palkon se mila de
look into my eyes in such a way that

aansu tere saray meri palkon pe saja de
when you want to cry, the tears should come out of my eyes

Hum Kis Gali Ja Rahey Hain - Atif Aslam

hum kis gali ja rahey hain ...
To which way are we going?(Which way is this that we've stepped into?)

hum kis gali ja rahey hain ...
To which way are we going?

apna koi thikana nahi .....
i don't have any home for myself....

apna koi thikana nahi .....
i don't have any home for myself....

Armanoon ki anjuman mey ,
with so many wishes in my heart

beysud hai apni lagan mey ...
I'm lost in this journey of reaching my goals
apna koi fasana nahi ....
(with so many wishes, though i m all in ma senses but still i ve lost all my senses. in my struggle to get all that i wish i ve left everything n set out on a journey so now i m homeless )

apna koi fasan nahi ....
ek ajnabi sa chehra , rehta hai meri nazar mey
I see the face of an stranger (in my thoughts)

ek dard aakey thera din raat dard-e-jiggar mey
& this pain hurts me day & night

jagi hai kaisi talab si ...
What kind of desire is this that flames within me

ye arzu hai ajab si....
What an strange wish is this...

lekin kisi ko batana nahi ....
but I shouldnot tell anyone about it

lekin kisi ko batana nahi ....
hum kis gali ja rahey hain ..
To which way are we going?...

hum kis gali ja rahey hain ...
apna koi thikana nahi .....
i don't have any home for myself....

apna koi thikana nahi .....
beytabiyaan hain pal pal , chaya ye kaisa nasha hai ...
I'm restless in every moments, what kind of pleasure is this that's surrounded me....

khamoshiyon mey sada , hosh bhi gumshada hai ...
I hear the voice even in the silence, I've lost my senses...

dar dar kahan ghumta hai ,masti mey kyun jhumta hai ...
Why am I lost in unconsciousness & whirl?!

dewanaey dil ney jana nahi ...
my crazy heart has been unable to know wat it is

dewanaey dil ney jana nahi ...
hum kis gali ja rahey hain ..
hum kis gali ja rahey hain ...
apna koi thikana nahi .....
apna koi thikana nahi .....
apna koi thikana nahi .....
apna koi thikana nahi .....

Ehsaas - Atif Aslam

main ik fard hoon ya ik ehsaas hoon
Am i an individual or a feeling

main ik jism hoon ya rooh ki pyaas hoon
Am i just a body or the thirst of a soul?

ke such ki talaash hai duur akaash hai
i'm searching for truth, the sky is far away...

manzil paas nahin kya tu mere paas hai
my destination is far, are you beside me? (will you accompany me to reach to the destination?)

kabhi main amal hoon kabhi bay amal hoon
sometimes i do things, sometimes i don't

gar tujh main nahin tou phir bay mehail hoon
if you arenot there with me, then i'm .... (??)

ke such ki talaash hai duur akaash hai
i'm searching for truth, the sky is far away...

manzil paas nahin kya tu mere paas hai
my destination is far, are you beside me? (will you accompany me to reach to the destination?)

Doorie - Atif Aslam

Doorie ....
Distance...

Doorie ....
Distance...

Doorie sahi jaey na ...
I cannot bear this seperation....

sahi jaey na ... sahi jaey na ...
i cannot bear....

khamoshiyan ye seh na sakun ....
There's a killing silence, i cannot bear it

awaz dey key mujhe tu dey ja sakun ....
Call me & pacify me...

Khamoshiyan ye seh na sakun ....awaz dey key tu dey ja sakun .....

Doorie

Doorie , sahi jaey na ....

Adhura hun main ab terey bina
I am incomplete without you

adhuri meri zindigani reh jaey gi
& my life will remain incomplete(without you)

Adhura hun main ab terey bina adhuri meri zindigani reh jaey gi
doorie ...

doorie , sahi jaey na ...
har rah mey tu , ayey nazar ..
Everywhere i look, i see only you (i see you everywhere all around me)

kat-ta nahi ab akeyley , tanha safar ....
& I'm not alone in this journey....
Doorie ....
Distance...
Doorie , sahi jaey na ....
I cannot bear this distance...

Aadat - Atif Aslam

Najaane kab se umeedein kuch baqi hain
Who knows how long I have been waiting for you
Mujhe phir bhi teri yaad kyun aati hai?
So why do I still miss you?
Najaane kab se...
who knows since when

Duur jitna bhi tum mujhse paas tere main..
However far you are from me, I am close to you
Ab to aadat si hai mujhko aise jeene main
I'm used to living like this by now
Zindagi se koi shikwaa bhi nahin hai
I don't even have any complaints about my life
Ab to zinda hun main is neele aasmaan mein
I'm just alive under the blue sky

Chaahat aisi hai yeh teri badhti jaaye
My love for you is such that it just keeps growing
Aahat aisi hai yeh teri mujhko sataaye
The (imagined) sound of you approaching is such that it torments me
Yaadein gehri hain yeh kitni dil doob jaye
My memories of you are so deep that the heart drowns
Aur aankhon main yeh ghum num ban jaaye
And the hurt becomes tears in my eyes

Ab to aadat si hai mujhko aise jeene main
I'm used to living like this by now

Sabhi raatein hain
Those nights are always with me
Sabhi baatein hain
Those talks are always with me
Bhula do unhein
(I need to) forget them
Mitaa do unhein
(I need to) erase them

Ab to aadat si hai mujhko.....
I'm used to living like this by now....

AADAT - Kalyug Version - Atif Aslam

Juda hoke bhi tu mujhmein kahi baaki hai
even separated from me you're in me somewhere
palkon mein banke aansu tu chali aati hai
you come to me in the form of tears on my eyelashes
juda hoke bhi

eventhough we are seperated....

waise zinda hu zindagi bin tere main
I'm living/surviving somehow without you
dard hi dard baaki raha hai seene mein
only pain is left in my heart
saans lena bhar bhi yaha jeena nahi hain
even though I breathe I'm not really alive
ab toh aadat si hai mujhko aaise jeene mein
but this way of living/surviving has become a habit now
juda hoke bhi tu mujhmein kahi baaki hai
palkon mein banke aansu tu chali aati hai

saath mere hain tu har pal shab ke andhere mein
you're with me every moment in the darkness of the night
paas mere hain tu har dam ujale savere mein
and in the morning's light
dil se dhadkan bhula dena aasan nahi hai
it's not easy to forget the heart's beats
ab toh aadat si hai mujhko aaise jeene mein
but this way of living/surviving has become a habit now
juda hoke bhi tu mujhmein kahi baaki hai
palkon mein banke aansu tu chali aati hai

ab toh aadat si hai mujhko aaise jeene mein

yeh jo yaadein hai
these memories
sabhi kaantein hai
are all thorns
katado inhe
cut them out

meetado inhe

erase them!
ab toh aadat si hai mujhko.....

Mahi Ve - Atif Aslam

Mahi Ve
Oh! My beloved

Tere dilan diyan galaan mainu
Your heart`s talks, they

Luk luk dain hawavan
Hide n give me air

Jidoun badal garjay saa ruk jaaway
When clouds thunder my breath get stop

Akhaan tainu waikhan
Eyes watches you

Hanjuu muk jaanday
Tears finishes

Kadi aa maiya we saday wairay
Sometimes come at my place

Muk janay nay way
Wil be finished

Saray wichoray
All distances

Soona jag we sara
Lishen whole world

Mainu bula way
Calling me

Kadi main we o na qadar na paway
u never valued me

Kadi aa maiya way saaday wairay
Sometimes come at my place

Muk jaanrain nay way
Will be finished

Saray wichoray
All distances

Mahi ve
Oh! My beloved

Teary dilan diyan galaan mainu
Your heart`s talks, they

Luk luk dain hawavan
Hide n give me air

Maula - Atif Aslam

Maulaaaaa
Maulaaaaaaaa

He starts off with an alaap of the word MAULA that means ALLAH, GOD

Mujh ko bata mera ghar hai kahan maula
Jogi bana main phirda rawan kinna ?

GHAR = HOME
JOGI = A PERSON HAVING NO CONCERN TO THIS MATERIALISTIC WORLD

O ALLAh, tell me where is my home? tell me the place where i actually belong to cuz i m searching 4 my base like JOGIZ but i ve not been succesful till now. tell me how much more i will walk around (phirda rawan) in quest of my reality.

Ruh ko tu hawa , bus tu hi aab hai ...
Is nazar ko tou sirf tera hi khwaab hai

ROOH = SOUL
HAWA = AIR
AAB = WATER
NAZAR = EYE SIGHT
KHWAAB = DREAM

Oh my Lord my everything belongs to you, you are just un-avoidable for me like water and air for life. You are the air in which my soul breathes and you are the water on which my soul is alive.

Shor kyun kar rahi yahan har ek zaban ...
Naam tera kahan gumshada gumshada ...

SHOR = NOISE
ZABAN = TONGUE
NAAM = NAME
GUMSHUDA = LOST

I see millions of tongues all around me talking, chit chatting, singing, making noise but why don't I find the tongues taking the name of ALLAH, the greatest, ALLAH, who created us. why do ppl have tym to talk rubbish but not remember ALLAH

South Africa

I am South Africa
Hear me loud and clear!
I see our greatness from above,
Why have we lost our way?

We all melted together
In a rainbow of effulgent colours.
Then seperated by only three:
Orange, white and blue.

I am South Africa
Hear me thunderous and proud!
I see our greatness from below
We can find our way again.

We now have the melting pot,
We were once great, so let us assimilate
Back into the colours red, black, yellow,
White, blue and green.

I am South Africa
Hear me voiceless and still
I see our greatness from within,
We are reaching the peak!

Triumphant

I am triumphant!

You thought
you'd have an effect
on me.
A hold that would
keep me
from being happy.

Well

I have news for you,
I'm a brand new person
because
I'm stronger now.

I've learnt from the mistake
I made by falling in love
with you.

A new chapter is beggining
I've won!
All you can see
is my back,

I'm now leading the way.
I'm blocking your sunshine,
I will not look back,
to see your face,
looking up at me.

It hurts you deep inside
to know that,
I was triumphant
over you!

One Second Flashback

I hold you tight
in the darkness of the night.
I can see the reflection of us
in the mirror, next to the light.
I wish we could stay in your bed
where we lay,
every second, every minute,
every hour, every day!

Please say that your minute hands
will carress every inch of my body.
my fingers gently stroke your back
in the middle of the night...

Sweat dripping down your neck,
you look up at me to see if I'm real,
then hold me tight,
head against my heart,
this moment will never fade
but its getting light
I must go home

My Friend

I often ask myself,
What's the definition,
Of a friend?

Someone who's willing to help,
Be there when everyone's gone,
Be the light when it's dark.

The one who tells the truth
When I lie to myself,
Someone who guides
When there's no path.

I found all this in you
Thanks for keeping me company,
This poem dedicated to
My good friend *********

A Good Friend

A good friend you saw in me

You listened when nobody would listen

I fear the consequences of revealing my feelings
the only way is to say it
but thats my only fear
the fear of not knowing what will become.
do I suffer in silence
or bring it out into the open?

If I lose, I really lose
if I win, I really win

damn I'm stuck
out of luck yet again
I never knew this wud cause so much pain

It's Me

It's me, it's always been me,
Standing in the shadows,
In front of you..

It hurt me so much,
To see you happy
Without me!

I stood there, banging
My head against the wall,
When all I had to do
Was ask!

If only there was a way,
For me to tell, if you
Felt the way I did.

It's you, its always been you,
Standing in the light,
I watched you in the shadows,
In front of me.

I hurt so much,
To be happy,
Without you!

I stood here, watching you,
Banging your head against
The wall, when
All you had to do
Was ask!

If only there was a way,
For me to tell, if you
Felt the way I did.

I Found You

I found you in my dream
red passionate fire blazing
from your feiry penetrating
eyes

I found you in my reality
white flowing cloth accentuating
your soft curvaceous sizzling
body

I found you in my happiness
pastels shooting through every
single fibre of my
soul

I found you in my pain
black depths cloud my deepest
darkest hallucinations

I found you in my eyes
I stared at my own reflection
and saw you gazing deep through
me

I found you in my dream
and not in my eyes

Red turned into black
pastels melted into white

Darkest hallucinations of
you abandoning me in the wake
of my miserable existance

because

I found you in my pain
instead of my happiness!

World

Your hand in mines
I close my eyes
and imagine you
were here...

When I open
my eyes,
my world is filled
with you

What do I have?

What do I have?
That's what I've
Been thinking of!
All I have is me.

All I have is me!
I don't think I'll be good enough.
He will ask me
and what am I supposed to say?

I'm good at a lot of things

But love?

Nah, that's not my game

I have lots of good qualities,
But none of them are great!
Get what I'm saying?
Isn't love about the person?

Isn't it supposed to be
About you and me?
How do I impress you?
When all I have is me?

All I can do now is try
coz all I am is me...

Touch

I held your hand tonight
it's something that
feels so fimiliar
your laughter still echo's deep
within my ice cold heart

I felt your warmth tonight
it's something that
feels so fimiliar
your smile still shines
even when i close my eyes

I saw your gentle brown eyes
it's something that
feels so fimilar
melting my ice cold heart
with your passionate laughter

you touched my hand
it's something that
feels so fimiliar
I opened my eyes
and all i could
ever wish for...

was to never wake from this
dream of you...

I Saw You

I saw her today
for the first time
in a year

I looked into her eyes
and saw what i'm missing
out on.

She is with someone else
but her eyes tell a different
story.

She wants me
and in that two seconds
our eyes met

I felt it

Me walking past her
feeling her eyes
checking me out

It burnt in my heart
and in hers too,
her heart was
calling mines.

I'm helpless coz we
lead totally different
lives.

But, one day, she'll
be mines...
