- He realised he needed to make a change when both his parents passed away from cancer without ever owning a passport
- He needed to be happy, he told me that the world is too "wage" conscious, people are working so hard to get a better car, a better house, and all the latest gadgets, only to spend most of their lives working for these "toys", that they cannot enjoy it
- He told me that we define our own happiness, only we can decide who and what makes us happy
- He left his home in London and has been travelling for one and a half years and is now on his way to Cape Town
This is the lessons I learnt from him:
- The simple things in life should make us happy
- Decide on what makes you happy and just do it
- Life is too short to waste time and be un-happy, start it now without any delays
- Life is meant to be "lived" and not "worked"
- Reduce the material possessions and live simply
- No matter what material possession you have, it cannot go with you
- Never under-estimate the lovely taste of a simple meal
- Do not complicate your lives
